To the Editor, Child Magazine
Your feature about the impact of September 11 ("The Day The World Changed," December-January 2002) was interesting and stimulating -- sort of like a Jerry Springer for intellectuals. But it only re-emphasized how little can actually be done about media violence.
What was completely missing, however, was any spiritual perspective. At least for the side column you found a book that dealt with various religions and was intended to promote tolerance. What is desperately needed, however, is exploration of the difference it makes when a child has confidence that death is not the end and that there is a God who cares and can be trusted.
