Discriminating
The word "discriminating" used to be positive, implying wisdom and discretion. Now when it is breathed or even implied, we scramble to shed the stigma. If a male fire chief had been accused of sexually harassing female employees, would he have been kept on as a captain?

Lesbian Bonnie Bleskachek was made Fire Chief in Minneapolis in a show of tolerence but it was soon found that 'her romantic liasons influenced her handling of personnel matters.'
The deal allowing her to remain as a captain had already unravelled when this letter was published.
