Time and Change
He tries a pair of glasses on
And, suddenly unhindered, sees.
"I'd quite forgot," he says and smiles,
"That one could see the leaves of trees."
So painlessly the vision blurred
That never did he note his lack
Until he put the glasses on
And got his former vision back.
It's much the same when Satan works
To dim our earnest Christian flame
By little steps so scarce we know
From whence the cold and darkness came.
