Repentant Lemming
The lemmings rushed,
Each following
The others who
But followed them.
One saw the cliff
And turned around
To face the crowd
Who all were doomed.
But few took note,
And fewer still
Were curious
About his change.
The ones who spoke
Derided him
For breaking step
And going wrong.
But one or two
Did comprehend,
And hearing truth
Turned back as well.
